Success Equals Motivation.
Understanding motivation, is to understand the gateway to success. We spend time working on what motivates our members as much as we do working on their technique. Our experience as coaches tells us that why you're doing what you do is as, if not more important than the way you do it.
The Low Down On Motivation:
We need to see success to drive our motivation We need this success to be ongoing. We need to acknowledge our successes. Appreciating our victories will make future achievements all the sweeter. In the words of a friend of mine, Chris Cooper, "Good gyms provide access. Great gyms provide success".
The Art Of Appreciation
The art of appreciation doesn’t come easily. We can, however, train our brains to embrace the positive, leading to a desire to seek out that which inspires and motivates, rather than focusing on what we don't have. “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough” ― Oprah Winfrey. The way we like to harness the art of appreciation, is through "Bright Spots". We celebrate our members successes, no matter how big or small. They be may work, family or life related, not just focused on what happens within the gym. Appreciating the successes that abound within our community, creates the mortar that cements that very thing. You might balk at first, thinking no-one wants to see me grandstanding, I don't want to see me grandstanding! Believe me, we've all had the same feelings, but together we do want to see your success celebrated. This is why we celebrate our monthly PR board more than ladders or other "top 3" or "best in gym" boards.
